All our courses cover the following key topics:

Work Experience. Learn how to reflect, not just describe. We’ll show you how to turn your experiences into insightful answers.
-
Teamwork & Communication. Understand the role of teamwork in medicine and practise how to demonstrate your communication skills under pressure.
-
NHS Hot Topics. Stay ahead with a clear understanding of the NHS structure, principles, and current challenges such as waiting times, staffing shortages, and health inequalities.
-
Medical Ethics. Master the Four Pillars of Medical Ethics (autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice) and apply them to scenarios on organ donation, consent, abortion, and resource allocation.
-
Roleplay Stations. Practise breaking bad news, handling angry patients, and showing empathy — with structured feedback from tutors.
-
Strengths, Weaknesses & Introspection. Develop reflective answers to personal questions, showing insight, resilience, and self-awareness.
Our Oxford and Cambridge Medical Interview Course adds in the following topics:
-
Data Interpretation. Develop your ability to be presented with unseen data and interpret this immediately.
-
Scientific Skills. Oxbridge will be testing your ability to apply the science you have learned in your A-levels to new scenarios and situations.
-
Lateral and Creative Thinking. You may be asked typical 'Oxbridge questions', which all our tutors have direct experience with.
The benefit of group courses for medical school interview preparations
Whilst it's very useful to learn the content needed for medical school interviews in your own time or via 1:1 lessons, one of the most useful things you can do to prepare for a medical school interview is join an online small-group course.
Our small-group courses at T&M will have a maximum of just 10 students, meaning that everyone will get a chance to speak. On top of this, you have the opportunity to see how other students are approaching and answering questions - this must not be underestimated. Medicine is a collaborative career which is fuelled by learning from each other.

Why Choose T&M Tutoring for your medicine interview prep?
Most medicine entry businesses are large companies with thousands of students - applicants become nameless individuals who are taught generic techniques. At T&M, we offer a fully personalised service - all our students have meetings with either Tom or Miriam and have a personal WhatsApp group just for you where we discuss your application and offer support 24/7.
Because we know all our students, we give you specific ways to play to your own strengths. For example, we have helped students craft personal statements which express their interest for medicine in ways they did not previously feel relevant. With our interview preparations, we make sure to work on our students strengths rather than teach them generic facts. We also spend a lot of time helping students with their confidence, speaking skills and expressive abilities. If you are someone who needs help forming sentences which stand out, we are the perfect people to help you.
This style of teaching and training has meant that since we started T&M Tutoring in 2022, all of our students have gained offers for medical school.
