FAQs

1 / What is the UCAT and who needs to take it?

The UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is an admissions test required by the majority of UK medical and dental schools. All students who are applying to UK universities will almost always need to take the UCAT as part of their application.

2 / What's changed for the 2025 UCAT?

The Abstract Reasoning (AR) section has been removed. Our course is fully updated to reflect this change, and now focuses on the four remaining sections:

  • Verbal Reasoning

  • Decision Making

  • Quantitative Reasoning

  • Situational Judgement

3 / Who will be teaching me?

All of our UCAT tutors are medical students or doctors from top UK universities, including the University of Cambridge. They've scored in the top percentiles of the UCAT themselves and are experienced in helping international students improve rapidly and confidently.

4 / Can you help with more than just the UCAT?

Yes! In addition to UCAT tutoring, we also support students with personal statement writing, interview preparation, and overall medical school application strategy. Many of our students work with us throughout the entire admissions process.

5 / How are the lessons delivered?

All sessions are delivered live via Zoom, once per week, in a small group format. Each session lasts 90 minutes and includes teaching, live Q&A, and strategy drills.

6 / Will sessions be recorded?

No — sessions will not be recorded to protect student privacy and encourage full participation. If you miss a session, we’ll provide a written summary and follow-up resources.

7 / How long should I spend preparing for the UCAT?

We recommend 6–10 weeks of focused preparation, depending on your starting point and confidence. Most students benefit from 1–2 sessions per week, with additional independent practice between lessons. Starting early is key, especially if you're balancing schoolwork alongside UCAT prep.

8 / How many students are in each group?

We limit group size to a maximum of 6 students to ensure every student can ask questions, interact with the tutor, and get personalised feedback.

9 / Do I need to do any work between sessions?

Yes — each week, you’ll receive optional homework, practice questions, and exercises to reinforce the strategies taught in class. These aren’t mandatory, but they’ll greatly boost your performance.

11 / Can I still book 1:1 lessons separately?

Absolutely. Many students choose to combine the group course with a few private sessions for extra support. You can book 1:1 UCAT lessons at any time via our website.
